The second class followed on from the first class by creating a video link between Ireland and Bulgaria.
Engineer Desislava Ignatova showed the students a comprehensive overview of the Bulgarian folklore traditions and the secret symbols of Bulgarian embroidery.
She overviewed the sun symbols, the fertility symbols, the meaning behind each colour used in the embroidery as well as the meaning between the different parts of the Bulgarian attire.
The Irish artist received the challenge to make their own self portrait using the stitches and the colours that they have learned about.
The class was part of a larger project that aims to explore Bulgarian and Irish culture.
