Submission Information

Submissions should interpret stained glass art using the stained glass felting technique. Examples of previous work developed using this technique can be found here and here.

You can submit 2 pieces of work:

  • Large Wall Hanging / Sculpture

Ideally, pieces should be A1 in size (for reference: A1 size is 59.4 x 84.1 cm).

If this sounds challenging work with either A2 or A3, just consider the possibility that your piece might be grouped with other artists who have chosen smaller size in a A1 block. With all the credits on a side of course.
  • Small Felt Picture

A small 25×25 cm felt stained glass picture. All participants in the free classes will produce a submittable piece of work as part of the class.

All work should be sent to the Pearse Museum prior to the 10th April submission deadline. The full address is:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is this felt stained glass technique?

A: The felt stained glass technique is a felting technique that was invented by Niki Collier, inspired by her workshop, which is at the location of Evie Home’s workshop.

Q: How can I learn this technique?

A: A series of free classes will take place as part of the programme associated with the exhibition. If you cannot attend the classes in person, you can watch recordings of previous classes on the technique given as part of the Keep Well Campaign.

Q: Do I have to submit a piece that is A1 in size?

A: You can also produce an A2 or A3 sized piece. Just consider the possibility that your piece might be grouped with other artists who have chosen smaller size in a A1 block.

Q: Can the piece be a sculpture?

A: Yes. If you are submitting a felt piece just follow the technique- cut prefelts put together and embellished with border. The border is the key to this technique.

Q: How many pieces could I submit?

Each artist can submit one Large Wall Hanging / Sculpture and one small felt picture.
